The girl, a student of Ryan International School in Vasant Kunj in south Delhi, had scored 70 percent marks. She, according to reports, wanted to pursue the Science stream but feared she would not be allowed to due to her score.
No suicide note was found.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old student hanged himself at his home in Kakrola in West Delhi's Dwarka after he secured 59 per cent marks in the board exam, reported news agency Press Trust of India. The boy was studying in M R Vivekananda Model School in Dwarka.
He was rushed to a local hospital soon after he hung himself but was declared brought dead. Police said they got a call around 3.45 pm regarding the incident. No suicide note was recovered, they added.
